Since new episodes don't begin airing until August, we're in a bit of a lull here. On one hand, this is incredibly fortunate, since the end of the spring semester is fast approaching, which means it's crazy-crunch-time here. On the other hand, I really like writing about Breaking Bad. But it is what it is.
And what it is today is my wedding anniversary. I'm delighted to report that my marriage is considerably more solid that Walt and Skyler's - although we don't have a pallet of money tucked away in a storage unit. (Yes, my daily "to do" list does not include "spray cash for silverfish.") It's a work day (sigh - shouldn't your anniversary be sort of like your birthday? People should make a fuss over you and cut you some extra slack on that day. Sigh.), but we have fun plans for later involving Bob Dylan and a concert in a totally uncovered amphitheater. I'm hoping the current cloud cover moves somewhere else before evening, but rain or shine, it'll be a great night!
Also, we've just gotten the word that we're slated to be "Attending Professionals" at the Alabama Phoenix Festival, which will be held May 24 - 26 down in Birmingham. We'll be involved in the "Whedon track" - details and a full schedule will be forthcoming.
Oh, and another reason the current lull is a good thing - Gilligan is talking a little, in very veiled terms, about the final eight episodes (he's called the finale "victorious" although he's very hush-hush about just who is the victor) and it's looking to be eight weeks of breakneck action, character development, and utter breathlessness. See what he has to say here.
